Perry Smiles Dentistry
Challenge
In June 2024, the team at Perry Smiles Dentistry contacted Vesta Foundation Solutions after experiencing persistent water intrusion and visible structural issues in their basement. During heavy rains, water regularly pooled in the basement, and staff had begun noticing musty odors, cracking along interior walls, and slight floor unevenness near the front of the office. Outside, the front concrete walkway had visibly sunk and cracked — creating both a trip hazard and a drainage path that funneled water directly toward the building’s foundation.
These conditions posed a serious threat to the long-term integrity of the structure and were beginning to affect daily operations. With patients and staff entering the facility daily, the practice needed a solution that addressed both the symptoms and root causes — without causing major disruption to business.
Solution
To protect the structure and maintain a safe, professional environment, we developed a two-phase repair plan that addressed both the exterior drainage issues and the internal water management system.
In July 2024, we began by lifting and leveling the cracked front walkway using PolyLevel®, a high-density polyurethane foam that stabilized the concrete and redirected surface water away from the building.
In August 2024, we returned to perform the basement waterproofing and structural repairs. We installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system along the basement perimeter to capture and redirect incoming water before it could reach the floor surface. A TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System was added to ensure consistent water removal — even during heavy rains or power outages. Finally, we sealed all visible foundation cracks to prevent further water intrusion and reinforce the compromised areas of the basement walls.
All work was completed on a coordinated schedule to allow the dental office to remain open and operational throughout the project.
Results:
-
Walkway safely lifted and leveled for better drainage and patient safety
-
Basement remains dry, even during heavy rainfall
-
Foundation reinforced and protected from future settlement
-
Indoor air quality improved and musty odors eliminated
-
Business operations remained uninterrupted throughout the process
With a fully stabilized foundation and a dry, protected basement, Perry Smiles Dentistry now enjoys a healthier, safer, and more reliable environment for staff and patients alike.
