Every Thursday the Regional Food Bank holds a volunteer event to help box, bag, label, and ship food portions to children in need throughout the entire state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma is the 5th highest state in damand for food needs and 1 in 5 children are in need of food assistance. This event helps fill backpacks full of food for children in need for the weekend. It includes everything from crackers, cereal, peanut butter and jelly packets, cranberries, and snack packs. This helps the entire state of Oklahoma including Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
After two hours of working in the lines helping package the food, the small Vesta team was able to help feed 2880 children. To learn more about this event I we encourage everyone to visitwww.regionalfoodbank.org. Thanks to everyone that came out and look forward to this ongoing event to help those in need.
